What we do:
Our programs
and activities focus on relieving unemployment for young people in Uganda by
offering educational based opportunities to advance their skills and
experiences which in turn boosts CVs and chances of getting employed. We live in an ever-changing world where
millions of young people are not getting the right education and the
opportunities to advance through life that’s why our educational
workshops focus on subjects including sex education, mental health,
employability and lifestyle skills. These topics are barely taught in
mainstream education, which is why we feel these areas are so vital to be
taught, especially when a youth leaves education and enters the working world,
they should know what to do and understand how to deal with certain situations.
The background;
We are a bunch of
creative individuals with proven creative and leadership backgrounds who simply
want to give back to the communities we live and do business in. We started
Youth Arts Movement Uganda because we want to help and make a difference in the
communities where we come from…. Most of all help young people to help themselves. We always believe that if we started with the
youth, then we would be planting the seeds for the future of our communities to
prosper. Give the children a sense of hope,
self-esteem, and love
that will better the world…We think making a difference in the lives of others
is life’s greatest purpose. We walk this path with faith knowing that Youth
Arts Movement Uganda will creatively change the lives of many young people in
Uganda and else where in Africa. And the change we want starts with every single
one of us with every little we’ve got.
